THE TWO CONCEPTS

First of all, these two concepts are the Geometry as a tool for spatial organisation from Rudolf Schindler and The aesthetic and functional unified in one element from Amanda Levete. After analysing the philosophy of Rudolf, I found that his works are kind of modernism style. Using geometric forms to represent the idea. The first one is inspired by using simple geometric blocks to stack together so that it can create a space. And of course it is a public space because there don't have roof, so it is a public open space. Moreover, there don't have too many intersections in it, so there is no clear boundaries. Therefore, passengers can get relaxed easily. Also this concept can be seen in my column and ceiling design. I used simple geometric shapes to define ceiling.

The second one is designing for the urban context which integrates the core concept of Amanda (aesthetic and functional unified in one element). It is actually could be the landmark of this region. It is simple form, but it became aesthetic after curving. And I think
the most attractive part is the connection column between two different height level. Unlike the traditional column, it is stretching so I decided to add nature environment because it reminds me of the root of the trees. Another detail which could represent this philosophy is the staircase with zigzag shape. It is irregular but it brings out curiosity. So it contains both functional and aesthetic ideas in it.

However, the theme I choose is sustainability, as those materials I mainly used in this model timber, so it is environmental friendly. Also the idea of floating garden also suits this idea. The garden and waterfall aims to let people find peace in this modern and noisy metropolis and get closed to the nature. It is not always the case that light rail station is full of rush atmosphere, it can just simply change another way of waiting.
